Description:
Hawaii Island Adult Care (HIAC) is a 501c3 Non-Profit organization that has served East Hawaii community since 1976. Our new Kapuna Place facility opened in 2019.
HIAC's purpose is to provide community based care for the daily life needs of frail elders, Alzheimer's patients, and physically or mentally challenged individuals, thus giving them the opportunity to remain living in their own homes, providing dignity and self-worth, and helping them maintain their independence as much as possible in the community. Preventing premature institutionalization into long-term care and providing much needed respite for caregivers and the opportunity to continue employment are among the HIAC goals for the community.
Caregiver Connection - We offer monthly Caregiver Respite Days, Support Groups, training and networking opportunities to caregivers on Hawaii Island to assist you and your ohana as you care for your loved one.
