Description:
Meets Wednesdays at 8:30am - noon
Senior Citizens Clubs promote recreational activities with other seniors 55 and older. This interaction promotes sharing of knowledge and experiences in solving problems as well. There are planned activities, workshops and excursions. There is often some overlap with group meals for the 60 and older seniors in some locations.
Nutritious, low cost lunches are available to older individuals (aged 60 and older) through two services: Congregate Dining and Meals on Wheels.
Congregate Dining: Sites are located in all nine districts, providing lunches along with a variety of activities that may include fitness classes, nutrition education, guest speakers, outings, and recreational activities.
Meals on Wheels: Modified lunches (lower in sodium and sugars) are delivered to the homes of older individuals who are homebound due to illness or injury.
Call the Nutrition Program office for more information on specific sites at (808) 961-8726.
