Certain laws exist to specifically protect people with disabilities and the elderly. Many private organizations and government offices have been created to ensure that those laws are being upheld. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights ensures that all people have equal access to Department of Health and Human Service programs. By doing this the department hopes to improve the health and well being of all people who participate in its programs.

Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Office for Civil Rights
The Federal Aviation Administration deals with discrimination in air transportation programs that receive federal assistance.

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Office of Disability Rights
The Federal Communications Commission Office of Disability Rights ensures that people with disabilities have the same opportunities to telecommunicate as everyone else.
