On May 8, 2009, The Hawaii County Office of Aging proudly announced the selection of Ah Vin “Jacob” Zane of North Kohala, and Sarah Togashi of Kea’au as the Outstanding Older Americans for 2009. The annual awards luncheon was held at the Hapuna Prince Hotel and attended by 400 energetic seniors. Mayor Billy Kenoi thanked the 26 nominees for making the Big Island a special place for all of us living today, and a better place to live tomorrow.
